October is almost over and you know what that means - - Halloween!

Each week “Girlfriend We Gotta Talk!” is broadcast from Richmond, VA - - a city steeped in history from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War and beyond.  Within a few miles from the radio station Patrick Henry declared “Give me liberty or give me death!” and Abraham Lincoln cried when he saw how much the city was devastated from the battle that ended the Civil War.

And it seems with such strife comes unexplained, ghostly activity.

Pamela Kinney, author of “Haunted Richmond, VA”, knows things about Richmond that we don’t want to know - - and yet we do!  On our latest “Girlfriend We Gotta Talk!” radio show that last part won out!

The Gifts of Cancer - Huh?

“Whoopee – cancer!” is not your average reaction to a breast cancer diagnosis, and Casey Quinlan is not your average patient.  After her 15th mammogram in December just two years ago, she won the booby prize, so to speak.

Her first reaction, after downing a stiff drink, was to cover her own cancer story with the same relentless inquiry she brought to her career in network’s television news.  Her story and what she learned is captured in her brand new book “Cancer for Christmas:  Making the Most of a Daunting Gift.”
