Famous hockey player Wayne Gretzky said “You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.” (We don’t play ice hockey, either, but it’s a great quote, don’t ya think?) Last week we took a shot by submitting a video audition for a show idea on the new Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
We thought it was a decent video and idea, BUT it was disqualified, rejected, and not posted. Why? Because they told us they are only accepting videos from INDIVIDUALS, not pairs.
Believe us, we were BUMMED, but immediately decided that even Oprah won’t split us up! We are sticking together.
Still, we’d love to have feedback on our video and idea. You know, just in case Oprah does call and change her mind! So, would you mind giving us some support by watching our video (3 min) and leaving a comment below for all to see? Or clicking on the Facebook "Like" link? Or sharing it via one of the social nnetworking links?
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oprah doesn't know what she's missing out on. You both are already a top hit and would bring so much more to the big screen. You're a winner in my book.

I agree, would love to see you on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Hope she changes her mind! Love the video and agree she'll miss out!

Mary and Susie,
You certainly have my vote. I love your show. Oprah is wrong!! Your show is funny, full of great advice and so "with the times". I hope the OWN sees the error of their ways and that they call you.

Thanks so much, Kate! We laughed about OWN seeing the error of their ways. We'll let you know if they call. We mean WHEN they call - LOL!

It is a fabulous and natural extension of your show's purpose and Oprah's mission. What a shame they are thinking so narrowly. Cheers to you both for all your ideas.

Hey, Mary & Susie!
What a GREAT! idea! It is a perfect segue to go from radio to television!!!! I thought Oprah was more openminded than that! Did she even LOOK at you guys?
You know . . ... "right" will rise to the top every time - just like cream; and you two ARE the "Cream de la Creme" !
All your fans are watching gleefully as "Girlfriend, We Gotta Talk!" rises to the top (just like Oprah did)!
Thanks for being and sharing you!

Linda and Kittygale, we sure do appreciate your girlfriend support! We figure that to be fair for their reality show competition they plan to do with the 10 finalists that they had to make sure the show ideas were "apples to apples," meaning all had a single host. But, hey, they've got to do 24/7 programming! By putting up our video and getting your feedback we hope that perhaps the producers of OWN will still consider our co-host idea. :)
cheers,
Mary & Susie

Great show idea! They really don't know what they are missing. The both of you with Suzie's larger than life personality would have the world hooked. And what a great name for the show - I know I would have watched. Hey she still might call.

Hey Pretty in Pink! The Dynamic Duo does it! You two are a great combo, and really complement each other, and the interviewees!
I say Go for it! Who needs Oprah? Woohoo!

Jessica, oh, warms our girlfriend hearts to hear you'd watch us if we had a Girlfriend We Gotta Talk TV show! Susie truly is larger than life (in a good way, mind you) and I am supplying the organization to let her life shine. Hey, you're right, the big O or her staff might just call. If so, we'll pick up and put her number on speed dial! Thanks for watching and giving us your encouragement.
cheers,
Mary

Jennifer, you're the best - Pretty in Pink....Dynamic Duo...phew, we do love all such endearing terms! Thanks so much for your support. As "Seat of the Pants Productions" as we sometimes call ourselves, there is ALWAYS a Plan B!
cheers,
Mary and Susie

Who wants just one host, when they can have two? It's already a terrific show concept and it will transition from radio to TV beautifully! You've got a ratings winner here - if Oprah doesn't pick it up, someone else will. Keep talking girlfriends!

Um....WTF?? Are they all blind at Harpo Productions?? I think this is a GREAT idea, and if Oprah ain't buyin', I bet there are several who will. King World co-produces Rachael Ray with Harpo. Start there ;)

Awe! That made me so sad, I'm 13 and I wan't to be a makeup artist! You have no idea how much I would have loved that show! I read 'Ooh La La, Perfect Makeup' and that almost into a show would have been amazing!
I'm praying that another TV Chanel will take you guys!
