“It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.”  If you’ve been laid off and can’t find a job, today’s economy may feel like the worst of times.  According to Ali Brown, it may be the best time to become an entrepreneur.  In 1998 Ali made the decision to start her life over.  She quit her New York ad agency job and decided to go out on her own – and almost failed.  But something made her not give up, something that has made all the difference.

Do you or someone you know own a business?  What are they doing in these tough economic times to “Ride the Wave”?  That’s what we asked three business owners at the Retail Marketing Expo on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. 

The Expo had over a 1000 attendees and was a great place to meet face-to-face with the media, advertising, and technology in the Richmond region; discover marketing products and services, and attend powerful education sessions. 

In front of a live audience, we chatted with Jo Ann Rossi of Zooom Printing, Melissa Ball of Ball Office Products, and Kym Grinnage, Station Manager and General Sales Manager of NBC12 in Richmond, VA.  Listen to our replay and hear how the economy is affecting their business, and more importantly, what they are doing differently to keep keepin’ on!

We had a ball at this year’s Retail Marketing Expo!
