Yesterday was Tom Foolery.
Today is Mary non-Foolery … ha ha… at least for now (I haven’t told you about my April nail color. More on that later.)
Seriously, I’m not fooling about some good news. I was going to tell you yesterday but I didn’t want you to think it’s a joke.
In less than 2 weeks on April 15th I’m part of a special workshop in Richmond, VA on “How to Create More Buzz With Less Bucks” from 9 am - 12:30 pm. Along with myself there will be my radio show co-host Susie Galvez, social networking geek Garth Callaghan, and video guru Chris Piedade.
(You might remember Garth and Chris were recent guests on our “Girlfriend We Gotta Talk!” radio show on March 22.)
Here’s the good news:
You can register today or tomorrow for only $49! (That’s 30 bucks off our Early Bird Rate of $79.) All you have to do is use the coupon code “No Joke” when you register.
Why are we doing this workshop? Simply is to share with other entreprenuers and small business owners our strategy and tools to keep and attract customers when bucks are tight.
The strategy Susie and I are doing is to become the ‘Go To’ person or company for what we do – myself as a motivational author/speaker and Susie as a beauty expert. You can, too.
Yes, YOU. Why not you? While other business owners are retreating, you can boldly step up your reach out in positive, useful ways. That type of attitude is always attractive, but even more so in today’s climate.
With that strategic perspective, Susie and I are using traditional media like newspapers, magazines, radio and TV to get exposure and attract people to us. More recently we’ve added new media options such as blogs, social networking and video.
(In fact, we think of our radio show as “traditional radio meets web 2.0 and social networking” because we’re blending several media at one time.)
Phew, I know it’s a lot to think about, let alone do!
But, the reality is that traditional and new media are great no and low cost ways to get yourself out there and attract people you’re looking to serve. The key is knowing WHICH traditional and new media YOU should use and WHY.
“How to Create More Buzz With Less Bucks” is not a workshops about how to the details of Facebook or all the ins and out of LinkedIn. It’s not about the step by step to put your video on YouTube.
Those things are valuable and you need to learn the basics. Heck, we’re still learning! Which is why we’ve asking Garth and Chris to join us because they are way better at the more technical stuff than we are.
This workshop is about how to strategically position yourself as the Go To person or company for what you do AND which no or low-cost traditional and new media tools you should use to showcase your expertise. It’s about reducing your confusion and overwhelm.
Holding the workshop on April 15th is no joke, either.
Yeah, we know April 15th is tax day. We thought that’s a perfect day to do something to stimulate your own business. Because you can’t rely on anyone or anything bailing you out!
What you can do is be smarter.
cheers,
